Easy Matcha Mug Cake

Make this delicious matcha & white chocolate treat in minutes!

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! That’s right, the festive season is upon us once again, and that makes for a great excuse to indulge a little. This delicious white chocolate matcha mug cake is super easy, super delicious and only takes a few minutes to whip up.  

You will need:

  • 1 tsp KissMeOrganics Culinary Matcha
  • 6 tbsp All-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp Baking powder
  • A small handful of white chocolate chips (or white chocolate broken into small pieces)
  • 1 tbsp White sugar
  • 5 tbsp Milk
  • 1 scoop of Ice cream or whipped cream (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Using a fork, mix all-purpose flour, sugar and culinary matcha in a mug.
  2. Add milk slowly and mix until smooth.
  3. Add white chocolate and mix well.

This Festive Holiday Treat Is Better Than Hot Chocolate

White Chocolate Matcha Latte Recipe

  • You will need:
  • 2 ¼ cups of milk (divided in two halves)
  • ½ cup of white chocolate chips

  • Whipped cream (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Put the first half of milk in a small saucepan over medium high heat, stirring constantly until it’s nearly boiling.

This Matcha Cookie Recipe Will Rock Your Christmas Cookie Exchange!

It’s that time of year again folks; the fire’s crackling, chestnuts are roasting, the carols are playing in every Starbucks, and many people are gearing up for one of their most beloved Holiday rituals, the annual Cookie Exchange 🙂

If this is your first time organizing or attending a cookie exchange, this checklist from Real Simple will walk you through it. If you’re an old hand at this festive tradition, then you already know how much fun delicious fun is in store for you!

Now for the

 million dollar question: How can you shake things up at this year’s cookie exchange? I’ve got one word for you: Matcha! This delicious ingredient will add a splash of color to traditional baked goods, like these adorable Christmas Tree Cookies …

Festive Matcha Christmas Tree Cookies Recipe

You will need:

  • For cookies:
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, room temperature, 1 stick
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1/4 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 Tbsp KissMeOrganics Culinary Matcha
  • 2 cups flour
  • Christmas tree cookie cutter

For the snow tip frosting:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 4 1/2 -5 tsp water
  • A handful of white sugar pearl sprinkles

Instructions:

Matcha Cookies

  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
  2. Cream the butter and sugar with mixer until light and fluffy and add egg yolks, vanilla and sour cream.
  3. Mix until combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, sift together baking powder, salt, matcha powder and flour
  5. Combine the dry ingredients with wet ingredients and mix until smooth.
  6. Make a ball like shape with the dough and wrap in seran wrap, gently press flat and chill in the refrigerator for 30 mins.
  7. On a lightly floured surface, use a rolling pin to roll out the dough to ¼” thickness
  8. Use your Christmas tree cookie cutter to cut your cookies.
  9. Arrange on cookie sheet 2″ apart.
  10. Bake for 10–15 minutes, watching they don’t brown.
  11. Place cookies onto cooling rack.

Adding the snow tips:

  1. Mix the powdered sugar and water to make a simple icing.
  2. Start with 3 tsp water, adding more water 1 tsp at a time to get the right consistency (not paste-like & not runny).
  3. Once the cookies have cooled, spoon a small amount of icing onto the cookie, outlining the shape of the snow tip.
  4. When the outline is done, use the back of the spoon to smooth out the icing (don’t use too much or too little).
  5. Add some sugar pearl sprinkles and place on a drying rack for the icing to set.

7 Ways To Keep Your Skin Glowing Through Winter

The hot summer sun can take its toll on our skin. Sun exposure and sweat can damage and irritate your skin leaving it looking weathered. You might think you’re off the hook now that Fall is approaching, but extremely cold weather can dry out your skin leaving it dull. You can keep your skin glowing all winter long by following a few simple tips during the cold weather!

7. Keep Humid

Turning up the heat will keep you nice and toasty, but it can also dry out your skin. One of the best ways to combat the effects of indoor heating is to use a humidifier. A humidifier will moisten the dry air in your living space, clearing your sinuses, and keeping your skin smooth and supple.

6. Hydrate

H2O is always a good idea. Cold winter days are no excuse to neglect your water consumption. If you don’t feel like drinking a tall glass of icy cold water, room temperature water will do the trick. Zesty Key Lime Paleo Matcha Poke Cake

This desert is a delicious vision out of some kind of sugar-coated dream. A fluffy vanilla cake with matcha swirls, iced with a light, creamy topping. But THIS recipe is also paleo-friendly, so you can satisfy your sweet tooth and get your matcha fix without sacrificing your diet!

*Note you will need to make your keto condensed milk in advance.

Key Lime Matcha Poke Cake Recipe

Ingredients

FOR THE CAKE:

  • 3 large eggs
  • 3 large egg whites
  • ½ cup melted butter
  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • 2 cups almond flour
  • ⅓ cup coconut flour
  • ¼ cup vanilla protein powder
  • 1 tsp liquid stevia
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 tsp lime zest

FOR THE FILLING:

FOR THE CREAM TOPPING:

  • 1 cup coconut milk (whipped into cream)
  • 1 drop of liquid stevia
  • Lime zest for the top

Directions

TO MAKE THE CAKE BASE:

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (163°C).
  2. Line an 8×8 pan with parchment paper.
  3. In a mixing bowl whisk the eggs, egg whites, coconut butter, coconut milk, and lime zest.
  4. In another mixing bowl, mix the almond flour, coconut flour, vanilla whey protein powder, baking soda, cream of tartar, and salt.
  5. Pour these two mixtures together, add the stevia, and whisk until well combined.
  6. Pour into the pan and bake for 30-35 minutes or until the top is golden and the cake is set.
  7. Remove the cake from the oven and leave it to cool.

*Note: Keep a careful eye on your timing—this cake can easily burn if left to bake too long due to the gluten-free flours.

TO MAKE THE FILLING:

  1. Mix in the matcha tea powder with the lime juice.
  2. Separate the egg yolks from the egg whites and place the egg yolks in a heatproof bowl.
  3. Mix the egg yolks with the matcha/lime juice, and add lime zest.
  4. Place the heatproof bowl in a double broiler, making sure the water doesn’t touch the bottom of the bowl.
  5. Stir constantly for 8-10 minutes, or until the mixture starts to thicken—and then remove from heat.
  6. Add the butter, and mix until dissolved.
  7. Add your pre-made condensed milk and mix until completely combined.
  8. Poke several holes in the cooled cake using the (thin) handle of a wooden spoon.
  9. Pour the filling evenly over the cake until it’s completely covered and the holes are filled.
  10. Refrigerate for 2 hours.

TO MAKE THE CREAM TOPPING:

  1. Once the cake is ready, whip the whipped cream coconut milk with stevia until you get firm peaks.
  2. Spread this topping on the cake and sprinkle with lime zest.
  3. Refrigerate for another hour before serving.
